WHAT IS AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL ?

For many people suffering with a physical or psychological condition - either chronic or temporary - the presence of a pet can serve to reduce the effects of disabling symptoms.

If your pet offers comfort and improves your condition and well being, you may qualify for an exemption to “no pets” policy for housing or be accompanied by your pet for airline travel.

To receive this accommodation, your disability must be verified by a licensed mental health professional, who will issue a signed letter for you to present to the authorized representative of or your housing and/or airline.

Please be aware that an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) differs from a Service Animal, which requires special training and is allowed to accompany its owner into most public places.

After an online questionnaire is submitted, your eligibility is determined and letters are issued by Jeffrey Frank, LCSW, who is licensed by the State of Florida to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, license number SW13065, issued August 15, 2015 and will renew March 31, 2017 and in the District of Columbia as Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, license number LC50078328, issued August 1, 2015 and will renew July 31, 2017.
